This diverse Washington, D.C. neighborhood has been thriving in recent years, revitalized to become one of the city’s most incredible areas! Trinidad is comprised of land originally owned by 19th-century Trinidadian physician James Barry. The area was farmland for years before it was sold to the Washington Brick Machine Company, which constructed the first buildings in Trinidad by excavating clay from the land. Today, the diverse Trinidad and H St. neighborhoods are populated by many artists drawn by the area’s creative vibe.

The community comes together for the H Street Farmers’ Market, held every Saturday from April to December. Here, you can browse an incredible selection of handmade cheeses, fresh fruits and vegetables, and fragrant flowers.
 
The local Atlas Performing Arts Center is a great place to catch a show or concert, while the nearby National Arboretum makes for a fun and educational day out. Outdoorsy residents will love soaking up the sunshine from Kingman and Heritage Islands, located in the Anacostia River.
